Ok, I did a search on Frankenlifts and tried to go through the 208 pages of results but I am hoping some of the knowledgeable members may help me:

What is a typical cost to install this kit?

I am not mechanically inclined so I wouldn't even want to try this by myself.

How long would this take to complete?

What are the steps and I guess an alignment is a must thereafter.

How is the ride compared to stock?

What downsides are there in getting this lift?

I justify this purchase & need to convince my wife we need this!!

-I checked around and got answers from $300 to almost $800. I ended up doing it myself.

I am not mechanically inclined so I wouldn't even want to try this by myself.

-It isn't hard at all really.

How long would this take to complete?

-If I remember correctly it took me 5 1/2 hours and I did about 1/2 of it by myself.

What are the steps and I guess an alignment is a must thereafter.

-An alignment is a must for sure. Then it will settle and a realignment is a good idea to do again.

How is the ride compared to stock?

-The ride is much MUCH better than stock. It is smoother and more progressive. I went with all OME parts which are said to be slightly less rough or more smooth than the Rancho counterparts. But both setups are a much needed improvement over stock. It handles better in turns, better over bumps and al in all is better in every single way compared to stock.

What downsides are there in getting this lift?

-It is maybe one of the pricier lifts out there but it is also said to be the best. With what TJ lifts cost though it is a steal. With any lift though there will be added wear and tear on all the parts affected by the lift, but this isn't a big issue. With a lift usually comes bigger tires and those bigger tires affect mpg and power, as in you will notice a loss.

I think All-J's charges their customer 3 1/2 hours labor to install - places not familiar with Liberty's might want a bit more - if you can find that discussion thread - I also think All-J's was willing to talk to a Garage that had quoted more - just to explain how easy it was.

So - check with local shops about cost for strut/shock installs - and if they quote a lot - talk to All-J about it - they have great service and realize not everyone can drive to Ca for an install.

(Labor rates vary a lot - shop around - but always go for the quality garage with the good rep - it's less expensive in the long run than the 'cheap' garage)

I have the Franky II Premium lift. It gave me a heavier duty set up. I really lucked out on an install.........$200.00 I think it was. Just lucky! After doing it he said it would be $350.00 the next time he does a Liberty. This was a strictly off road 4X4 shop. There are cheaper lift kits out there, such as Rusty's. If you plan on an after market steel bumper Rusty's tend to sag after a while, I guess. With the Franky that doesn't happen although there is some natural "settling" to any lift.

- no idea. it is not hard at all to install and if you and a buddy go at it you can DEFINITELY do it yourself. it's only nuts and bolts... if man built it man can take it apart

- This was the first lift i've ever installed and it took me about 3.5 hours. someone who has done one before it would take about 2.5ish

- Steps? for the install? you can download them from boulderbars.com (i think) they are great instructions from a mag. right up. and yes.. and alignment is necessary.

How is the ride compared to stock?
- Ride is 10x better than stock. much less body roll and more responsive. plus it looks mean and wheels 100x better

What downsides are there in getting this lift?
- it is a bit more expensive than other lifts.. but i believe you get what you pay for. as with all liberty's with lifts.. there will be added stress on Upper Ball Joints and CV joints. Plus with the Frankenlift you could get some contact between the upper control arm and spring. this doesnt hurt anything but you might hear a small "clunk" over large bumps from time to time... this is because it yields about 4 inches of lift (although advertised at 2.5).

I also read on here that I should install other items... extended rear brake lines, new arms....when will I be done?

LMAO. Sadly he is right. Just when you get done you will find something else that you could do or really want to do. I installed an OME HD lift a few weeks ago and it was surprisingly easy! I do have some xp but not a lot. It is just more or less common sense once you really look at it.

If you were closer to Vegas I would say come on over. As for the other things you asked about...the extra brake lines, I dont have on mine. The new arms, don't have either.

Just take it one step at a time and you will do fine.

can I get a Frankenlift Premium all OME using medium coils and regular length struts and shocks?

If you call heather at All J's they can probably work out a medium for you, but not sure why, the ride quality is simply outstanding with the Heavies. I'm pretty sure that you will need the long shocks for any lift though. Otherwise, you may extend the shock to the max just on regular driving.

I dont want the extreme height from the HD's as I will not be doing a bumper. mostly my DD but want it up just a bit more. I really don't want to mess with A arms and CV's getting busted up. Time to call Heather I guess.

then don't do the clevis or anything else, or the Frankenlift just get the springs and shocks/struts, have to do those anyways
Mostly my DD,
most of us are I didn't get 107,000 on an 04 by sitting on the porch with the old dogs.
Dont want to mess with A arms
I ran mine for over 65,000 and my old arms are still good and tight, just upgraded cause I could, my CVs are tight as well

You can still go with the mediums but then why get the Frankenlift just get the OME medium springs and what ever struts/shocks you want

its really not as hard as you think it is, Ive never done any suspension work before but I was able to do it with simple hand tool, and if your not wanting to get real high just get the OME HD coils I did that and gained 2.5" and then I also added 3 ring clevis to sit at 3" and my CVs and A-arms are fine

I went with Heavies on my DD and I love it. It works fantastic on and off road. I'm glad I did it. Now I'm looking for what my next upgrade will be.

Do I smell the first PNW LOST chapter lift party coming?
