alright so have a '03 kj looking to put on a sweet lift kit. On another website i see a kj called "swampthing" with a 5.5" lift on it. I think it would be sweet to get a 5" lift on mine sooooo i was just wondering if i should stick with my 2.5 lift or go to this because this one looks sweet its on car domain.com. hmm any suggestions and also how much would this cost and what parts etc would i need thanks guys!

first off
2wd or 4wd?
2wd you can do 10" if you can get it aligned
4wd it is best to keep it ~3" or less to avoid CV issues
also keep in mind that there is way more to lifting a Jeep or any thing for that matter then just the lift
at some point you will have drive shaft issues
the there is the limit on tire size that the front diff can handle ,seems to be about 32" max
also at that size tire 3.73 gears will not cut it ,at least for me
the list of things can get quite long
if you have 2.5" then keep that and get some good tires and a locker out back and call it a day
just my .02

its a 4 wheel drive and yeah i guess with a 2.5 lift my wallet will feel better and with some nice tires it'd look even better

Plus swampthing is really no more after some problems he tore it back down to 2/3 inches of lift and called it good. Tons of posts tell you that without a properly setup lift it can be bad plus one that is setup the right way is big bucks

so just how deep are your pockets

Keeo it at 2.5- 3" and be happy, spend the rest of your $ on your drivetrain and tires. your KJ will love you for it. If you decide otherwise read all you can on this forum and you will learn what it takes to go past 3. Pros and cons. again the correct way will cost you about 20,000 grand give and take a few buck to do an SFA. Otherwise good luck!

OME HD lift with a clevis and an extra rear iso and 245/75 MT put me at 4.75" of lift, but my first tires were 235/70 AT
