Got the wife's KJ fixed after crushing the rocker panel. Could have bought 2 sets of Boulder Bars for the price of fixing one rocker! Ah well, it was fun until I got home. Missed today's MALOST trip to Paragon since I'm not allowed to take it out until I get some Boulder Bars on. I'm trying to get in touch with Santa to see if I can swing an early delivery!

If anyone is interested, there are Mopar rock rails available on Ebay:

$286 for what most people consider the best rocker guards out there, or $255 for factory ones that we have seen bend many times. Thats a tough decision

Armor is not something to save money and this post proves it.

I was fortunate to get a set of Mopar rock rails off Ebay 168 bucks including shipping.
For the infrequent number of times and the type of trails I go on, they will work. Others may feel the same need. I don't dispute that BBs are superior.

Yeah, some of us have to keep our wives happy if we want to continue wheeling. ;)

You may have missed some key words there. It's not really my KJ so I only get to borrow it on the weekends. Our Libby lived the soccor mom life till now toting our boys around and she's very possesive of her Jeep. Weird thing is she's never really been into any of her other cars (KJ's our first Jeep), but has loved her KJ since the day we got it. I've only recently got permission to start modding it to take it wheeling and we bought it in Aug 01!

Until recently, the only mod she let me make was an EZ-Pass Tag!

Not sure why you say this post proves it, if you are referring that you shouldn't save money by buying cheaper rails than AllJ's BB's. He didn't have (at least he never mentioned he had any) any rails on his KJ when he damaged the rocker panel. If you refer to "don't save money by skipping side rail protection," then good for you.

Yeah, thats what I was implying TokyoJoe.

Now if only Custom 4x4 would start making their double tube rocker guards for the KJ, I had them on my XJ and loved them. I will be ordering AJ's for Xmas if I still can't get the C4x4 ones.
