To answer your question, I've not had any issues with my cruise control

I know I'm kinda late, but I just recently bought an 02 KJ and it's cruise didn't work. It bugged the hell outta me, so I started from front to back checking out the system. Turns out right behind my air intake box there is the cruise control diaphram. It has a plastic hose going into a rubber 90 fitting. Or at least it was supposed to. I don't know how someone could have damaged it, but the fitting was torn and the plastic tube that was supposed to be in there was just hanging out in the engine bay. Well I'm still hunting online for a parts manual, but the quick fix was to cut a piece of my wife's little workout tubing, and zip tie that in the fittings place. Cruise works fine now. This may not be your problem but maybe someone else searching for an answer might find this helpful. Good luck with your cruise.
