| Post subject: | are my frankinlift OME shocks worn out? |
I installed the Frankinlift with OME shocks about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I drive a 2002 with ARB front and rear, 9000lb warn winch , full armor below, 265 75 16 tires on 16" MT Classic Beadlock wheels. Problem: I feel the Jeep is porpoising too much after hitting any small bump and the front tires are toed out all the time . The vehicles front end feels really flubbery(is there such a word?) going over pot holes and also in turns. Before it was reasonably tight . Even when I stop the Jeep will rock back and forth several times before settling down . Opinions anyone? I mean isn't OME shocks the heavist out there for a heavy Jeep like mine ? |

They could be gone, depends on driving style, type of roads etc. as far as the KJ being toed out thats alignment not the shock(struts) If you had Ranchos they are life time warranted ya know I would contact AllJs and see what type of warranty there is and go from there I know what the warranty on the OME springs are but not the shocks, springs are 18 months I think so you may get something |

I had less than 15000 miles on them. Anyway, I ordered the OME struts for the front. |

When you look at the Jeep from the front the tires look like the bottoms are splayed outward. |

Thats still the alignment. Only thing shocks do it dampen the springs tendency to 'bounce.' Ive got the stock bumper but my Jeep is nice and tight with the OME's, going on 25k miles on this suspension. |

like the bottoms are splayed outward. That's normal. the geometry of the front end adds negative camber when it's raised, and some you can't get back in spec. Just out of curiosity...did you get your KJ aligned after lifting it? |

I can't remember if I had it aligned, but I will have it looked into. I just had the upper ball joints replaced AGAIN in less than a year and the mechanic said that there was no more adjustment to correct the camber issue. |

Also if you look at your front suspension bushings, worn bushing will take it's toll on your front shocks(yes they are shocks). |

My front end feels realy loose and I just replaced the upper and lower ball joins , right tie rod and a had a front alignment done. Where does one find JBA's Upper control arms ? |

http://jeepinbyal.com/ or you can order through Rock Lizard (Gecko Accessories ) http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/ I thought I had al's upper A arm in there but I apparently did not. I just ordered a set and a set of OME struts . I think this will help. Robert |
