Post subject:  Lift performance

Sorry if this seems to be a strange question. But...

A lot of people here have installed lift kits.
This is to increase ground clearance( I understand this. For Off road and bigger tyres)
To increase performance?

By lifting the C.O.G. How can this increase performance?
Doesn't this create more bodyroll?

Can someone explain what is mean't by increased performance.
Or does this really mean Off Road performance?

What does this do to On Road performance? :?

slight loss of MPG
slightly better chance of a roll
done right nothing else will suffer

Wallet performance going south !!! LOL

With Bigger circumference wheels, wouldn't that increase MPG?

If you go with a full coil lift (no spacers), your road handling and ride will be better. I recommend OME springs and Rancho shocks on 4 corners. :D

I can take any corner the same as I did stock, ride is stiffer but not so stiff that it is harsh, just a great ride, way better than stock for sure, for example over rail road tracks before lift I would have to almost stop or have the suspension bottom out on this one set of tracks I cross daily, now after the lift 35 and floats over, loss of mpgs was minimal to say the least very well worth it, anyone with over 45000 miles on theirs would see a huge difference going from sucky suspension to full coil OMEs

IF I had to do it all over I would of junked the stock suspension at 125 miles along with the junkyears that came with it, so much better all around, anyone running stock suspension just has no idea

If you could get larger tires that weighed less, you might get better mpgs but that's not likely. larger tires need more power to turn.

yes if you are going to be mainly highway then tire weight comes into play big time I think, no need for 10 ply tires when 6 will do
