| Post subject: | Revtek to Frankenlift conversion |
I currently have the Revtek 2" spacer lift and front clevis lift on my KJ. I will soon be installing a Frankenlift with the HD OME's. When I install the Frankenlift what should I do about the clevis lift in the front and the strut plate spacer from the revtek kit? Should I retain any of that? Isnt the strut plate spacer on the Revtek kit an OTT setup? In the rear the Revtek kit is just a spacer so when I put the Frankenlift springs in the rear I need to put a factory spring isolator in its place. How many isolators should I use? Also while I have it apart is there anyway to lube the ball joint on the upper link in the rear suspension? |

take out all the old lift, Frankenlift has everything you need for the front, do not use the clevis etc. Only install the Frankenlift . When you did the rear you should of kept the rear isolators, (1, lower isloators and 1, top one) keep those and install one new per side top isolator ( along with the stock ones) after all of the above you should be in great shape, don't forget to get an alignment right away! |

after all of the above you should be in great shape, don't forget to get an alignment right away! At the time I did the Revtek kit I tossed the rear lower isolators cause there spacer would not go on with them installed. Wheres the best place to get a good deal on new ones? Im glad I can sell off the old lift now since I had way to much rubbing with the 31's swampers I run. |

I hear that the frankenlifts tend to sit lower in the rear. |

a little off the topic.. but can you do a clevis lift (2 conduit nuts per side) with a frankenlift?? i remember someone on here saying it doesnt work on some strut or some lift or some brand for some reason. confused yet i know the risk of CV angles and upper ball joint contact and all that... i just want to know if it will technically work |

naa not really. i just figure if 1 or 2 conduit nuts will restore it to pre-settle height in the front. did swamp things lift fail in the front... i'm not sure what happened to his KJ. tom... just to let you know i ran the 35's for about 20 miles now and have had no problems at all!!! i think clreinstein should try it! |

we are going to try it on cdiekans (Chris') when we do some changes to his sometime this fall, his Franky was used when he got it and he has put a ton of miles on it so it has sagged somewhat, so it will be a good one to try it on and see what happens. will report back when we do it |

thanks a lot!.. my frankie has about 15,000 on it and 6 or 7 real brutal offroad ventures... so it has had a lot of use so far as well. i guess i'll wait and see how his turns out. i already have 6 conduit nuts i bought... i think when i do it i'll try 2 on both sides and add another rear isolator to the rear. perhaps i'm just asking for trouble.. but if the glove fits.. |
