Engine light for left rear O2 sensor

I don't remember the code that shows up but it's for the rear left (after cat) O2 sensor. It goes on and off but mostly stays on. I've tried disconnecting and connecting it and it's still there so it's not the connection.
It's $70 up here so I'm not really in the mood to change it just yet...what difference will it make wether I change it or not? Thanks again guys!!

The 02 sensor is part of what tells the computer what the temp is in the exhaust etc. if it is not functioning properly it could run too rich , burn up a cat or some other expensive things, more than the 70 bucks, I got mine for 35 about 6 months ago "down here"!!! :wink:

I believe the codes that come up for that sensor are P0137 and/or P0138. Crawl underneath and take a look at the wires that connect to that one. They may have come out of the clip that holds them from rubbing against the front driveshaft. If so, I had the same thing happen; spliced the wires and taped them down away from the shaft. Worked well enough til I could afford to replace it.

Thats why I had to replace mine, wires got pulled loose and rubbed the drive shaft, burnt one right into. You maybe able to repair the wire but get it replaced ASAP

ok ok ok, I will get it replaced....sheeeeesh LOL

And as per my original message, I did state that I checked the connections and it was fine...only thing left is to replace it.
