if your on that budget WITH installation,i would get the 2.5" daystar kit from ALL-J's thats $155, thats a GREAT price!! i have heard a lot of good things about that kit. plus with the money you save, you could maybe get new rancho shocks too, or even just new rancho shocks in the back |

Its your daily driver but you want height more than ride comfort OME coils and Rancho shocks all around 650 give or take, basically all new suspension then Daystar using old springs which are already weak, should replace shocks all around ( have to replace the rears anyways) So looking at it that way taking the shocks out of the price, you either buy 4 springs for 280 or the Daystar for 155/160 IMO save up another 150 and go for the better, will have great ride, on and off road performance and new springs/shocks all around. Pay today or pay later to redo it, which will it be? |

I highly recommend spending an extra $150 and get the OME HD coils and Ranchs all around |

ditto. you are so close to a much better lift than spacers and old springs so I would save up a little while longer and bite the bullet on the better setup. |

Thanks to the only person that actually answered my question. That would be the only person that gave me my best option for my budget. I'm not spending over $500, I'm not talking about saving the money or not, I'm not spending more. I have far more important things to do than blow money on a lift, so I set a budget. |

OK so you will spend 160 for the Daystar kit 200 for front shocks 124 for rear shocks total 480 (rounded out) and will be using worn out springs OK just wanted to make sure you knew, we all have to sit and think what we can spend, thats why I bought my lift over two months to spread out the pain Enjoy GOOD JOB RAYMAN975 I guess you win today, but we will get tomorrows |

Why not? I want something to look good, and I honestly don't care about ride quality. I bought a Jeep, not a Lexus. Since everyone is so persistant on the OME HD coils and just rancho shocks/struts/whatever, just tell me, what kind of lift will I get? 2.5" more? And remember something, you say $650 for parts... so your talking a $1000 lift. Remember, installation. Not everyone is born with a wrench in there hand, some of us are not inclined to to this work. |

I don't want/need "the best", or even close to. I just want a lift. And if your numbers are right, and I'm spending $480 on parts... than we can just figure out where this is going. Yep, I'm not bothering. If I can't get it done for my budget, than, I'm not, at least right now (next 12 months) going to bother. I would rather spend money on new tires, rims, roof rack, hella lights, flow master, whatever, instead of the money on a lift. At least right now. |

Well if it were me, and it is not - if my goal was to wheel off-road, I'd go for the items needed, foregoing cosmetic items such as lights & roof baskets. But if I just wanted to look cool, which also is not me, I'd go the route you're attempting to take. Wait for it... stupid pocket lint.... my .2 cents. |

I have run the Daystar 2-1/2" for right at a year now and it has worked great for me. I don't wheel my Libby much but it has seen some pretty good action on occassion. I put the lift on mainly to get the Jeep some clearance in the snow and have a place for my Moabs from the Rubi. It has done all that and more. Just remember there might be better lifts out there, but that doesn't make it the perfect lift for everyone. I have heard all the arguments over the years on many lifts for many Jeeps. What works fine for one is a POS for another. Do what makes since to you. If you need install instructions here is a write up I did. Do it yourself or with some help and save some extra cash. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... highlight= |

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... highlight= Agreed. I would have suggested this, but I didn't think it would go over well. |

If you do not want to spend more than 500 canadian. Here are a couple of options. Since you are in Canada realize that anything you order from the US is in US dollars. Also UPS shipping to Canada is a PITA. You can add almost 100 bucks for shipping onto your cost because they charge you like 40-50 bucks just to cross the border in addition to the shipping cost that is already quoted you. If they send it my US Postal service then it is cheaper. So here are some cheap options: 1. 2.5" daystar lift + rear Rancho RSX 17004 shocks - $285 plus shipping at boulderbars.com 2. clevis lift + rear isolater - about $50 worth of parts from local dealer and local hardware store. |

I ....will....say....this.....very....slowly...... it ....costs.... the ....same... money... to... do... a... Daystar.. as... it... does.. a ...OME etc. ... labor wise You still have to take everything apart and put it back together, you ask the question about what to get people answer for me I would want a better lift than a muffler, the looks will get them before the sound will FLAME RETARTANT SUIT IS NOW ON so flame on jeez I love it! I lurk around here a LOT, don't speak very often, and I've got to say..... Tom you crack my stupid up. As far as the lift ? goes, I have a daystar that the previous owner had put on. I have about 50,000 miles on it and it's shot. Struts going bad, and causing me more of a head ache than I had envisioned. I am saving the few pennies I make a month, to upgrade. It's going to cost me more in the long run, than if a 'proper' lift had been put in in the first place. IMO spend the extra couple of bucks to save a bunch in the long run. just my 2 pennies. |

I think this has been asked a trillion times, but I don't remember seeing the answer recently so... OME HD coils.. rancho structs (rear only). I would only need these parts right? And... what exactly can I expect for a height gain? |

OME 928 and OME 927, Rancho RSX17505 (front) and RSX17004 (rear) 6 hockey pucks for bumpstops-3 on each side and terrflex front bumpstops and you would gain about 2.5" if you add a aclevis and a rear iso you would be around 3" |

Now I just know you have that saved on your computer somewhere JSC7002 !! I need to do that... OBIHANN: If you are interested in the OME and want to know what a clevis lift is check the new sticky in this section. Greetz, Tony. PS: you don't happen to have a handy neighbour or friend who can help you out? Getting the rear springs in is a breeze, getting the front struts of a bit more work but very doable. Then you bring the struts to a specialist to have the springs placed one the new struts and your done. ( or you can do that yourself too, have a look at this http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=29217 Please read through the whole thing. |
