I,m considering getting the OME springs instead of getting the daystar lift after reading some posts. Does any one have: 1. the amount of lift i will get 2. anything else i will need besides front /rear springs and rancho shocks for the rear 3. Part numbers and the best places to buy the above items thanks, Greg |

I think ARB made a typ-o in this list, you get up to 2,5" of lift. You need front and rearbumpstops. While you are at it change the front shocks (struts) as well. You can use Rancho 17505's. Good place to buy this in the US: www.boulderbars.com |

or can i maybe somehow increase that lift to 2.5? 245/75R16's are the most popular tires size for a lifted KJ,245/70's are a good choice also, both have minimal/zero rub on a lifted KJ. |

if you get the OME HD coils 927 for the front and 948 for the rear you should gain about 2.5", then you can add a rear iso and a clevis and make it up to 3" terraflex front bumpstops and 6 hockey pucks for the rear bumpstops I bought my coils from Dirk at www.DPGoffroad.com I had to call him but he has the coils and they were $72 each and for the shocks I got them at Summit Racing- Rancho RSX17505 for the front $100 each and RSX17004 for the rear for $60 each and free shipping |

There is a bigger choice in tires if you go with the 75 series, most M/T tires only come in that. |

they call it a 1.5" lift for warrenty reasons and I had OME HD w/o anything up front for awhile and its not going to hurt anything and even right now my front bumper only weighs 50# |

You do get more than 1.5", I have the OME HD and love it. I think I might be down to about 1.5" lift now but I have the Arb bumper and a M8000 winch in the front. I was worried and it took me some time to get the lift but in the end I was very happy. Get the Emu, you will like it As for tires, I have BFG AT KO and they are great, I do have a slight rub at full lock, just enough to piss me off but not enough to really worry about. If you pick up some Moabs or spacers you will eliminate that problem totally. Then again if you go with the General AT2s you shouldn't have any rubbing at all. |

Interesting. I'm running OME HD with ARB bull bar, General Grabber AT2 245/70 R16s. No rubbing at all up front until I added the Spidertrax spacers. Now it's just minimal rubbing on the plastic cover over the pinch weld. But I've taken them off for winter. Got the Nokian Hakks 245/70s, no rubbing at all. Course, they're on winter steelies, could be slightly different backspacing. I haven't checked that. |

Are the bump stops required or optional? I was under the impression that they weren't needed. |

they must of turned off the search button again, we need this on "speed dial " or something You need bumpstops, every inch of lift one inch of bump stops in most cases, OME struts have a sort of bumpstop built in but what you are trying to do is to keep the springs from "stacking" this is when you compress the springs to where they are touching one another. Not sure how many times I have seen pictures on here of that and people claiming that this is great flex, well it is at the expense of your springs! Too tired to go any further tonight, thats good isn't it Everyone else has pretty much answered everything else, OME is not 1.5 except maybe the light duty ones but who wants them? ARB covers their backside very well when they advertise and when telling you what will ans will not work. They may say that by mixing parts to create something like the Frankenlift is bad...BUT I bet they like the orders they get from AllJs all the time |

To ease things a little for TOM ( and nowadays for myself too ) I made the OME spec sheet and 'what is a clevis lift' a sticky in this section. |

Sorry. Didn't mean to sound stupid. I've been reading on this forum and JeepKJCountry.com for almost a year exactly(bought my KJ Nov. 7th '07). From what I've read OME HD springs and Rancho's are the way to go, but didn't see the mention of bump stops until now. |
