i am tight on cash and am going to be buying all of the parts for a frankenlift separately. i am just making sure that i am getting all the stuff that i need. i will need ome coils, shocks, struts, strut plate, front poly spacer from rustys, and a jba rear isolator. i wasn't sure if the isolators were on there stock or not, i am a noob sorry. |

I think you will spend more if you piece it together yourself. Furthermore, the Rusty spacers are 0.75" and I am not sure the Franky's are that high. ( I hate mine so I might be biased). You still need to get the Daystar topplates and some front shocks, why not just get the all Rancho Frankenlift. |

But you will need the daystar top plate to do so. I used the OME struts from my rusty's coil lift. Just bought OME HD fronts. got the spacers and top plates from someone on here for cheap. upgraded from rusty's to a "franky" for ~$200. Assemble according to daystar 2.5" lift instructions...making sure not to leave out the old washer from the dust boots. |

when you assemble the front strut assembly, make sure you torque down the nut holding the assembly together, on top, good and use loctite, and make sure you put the thick big washer under that nut too!! when i assembled mine 100% and put the tires back on, i forgot to put that washer on, im like son of a!!!!!!!! because i bought OEM top plates off a member here(so i wouldnt have to dissassemble the stock oem shocks/springs), and used those top plates, to assemble the new rancho, ome assembly together. and i didnt have the washers because they were on the OEM assembly. and didnt notice the washers until i looked at the OEM assembly AFTER everything was already back together!!!!!!!!! so i dissassembled and re-assembled everything with 2 new washers in about a half hour! lol goes quick once you did one already hahaha |

Good info guys, especially since it's time for me to perk up the KJ's front end. I notice even folks without a steel front bumper or winch are suggesting the OME HD coils, any reason to do that over the light or medium duty springs? Also, anyone have a part number/vendor for buying the Daystar upper strut plates without getting a complete kit? |

OME HD's will give you little more lift since they won't settle as much without a front steel bumper or winch. The ride will be slightly stiffer though. Check with all js for the daystar stuff. |

Thanks. I used to have the "big" Liberty around here, and hadn't realized how much the front had sagged until I parked next to JMM's Liberty at a MJC meeting last night. That just won't do, especially since I gave him my extra spring isolators for another 1/2" lift. |

I say OME HD b/c the OME light duty and Rustys coil lift both have the same spring rating as your stock coils which means they will sag more and quicker than OME HD plus OME HD will net you a little bit more lift |

plus OME HD will net you a little bit more lift OME med coils should be ok if you do not plan on getting a bumper or winch. HD's will give more lift though. Just remember that the daystar upper plates will let the upper control arm hit the coil at full droop so make sure you either get the JBA arms or make a good bumpstop. The only reason I dont want to upgrade my OME lift to a franken lift is I dont want UBJC and dont have the $$ yet for JBA arms. |

Jeepjeepster Having JBA UCA's does not elimate upper ball joint contact like everyone say's... I bought some this summer and still get UBC(at full droop)!! I have a OME lift with 3 ring clevis and a strut plate spacer. Just a heads up! Josh |

Tom I was wondering if you had the same issue since our setup's are very similar. Do you thing the gen 5's would be better? We would have to trim some but then they may not hit the spring. Not sure. Josh |

Hmm, I always thought the angle of the joint and the extra length kept them off the coil. Anyway, its not the boot that hits the spring is it? If the boot didnt hit the spring on the stock arms it wouldnt be that big of a deal other than the noise and extra pressure that hitting the spring puts on the arm and joint. |
