So I bought these from JBA: http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-JBA_Spring_Ring-589.aspx It is a 1/4" round steel spacer. I thought it was suppose to go on top of the strut assembly (like a OTT spacer).

Nope, they are inside the strut spacers. 'JBA custom 1/4 thick x 3 ID x 4.31 OD Strut Spring Ring Shim, For front strut springs, on a 350 lbs spring you will add 175lbs of force on the front struts with each set of rings, helps with a ARB winch bumper.' |

That makes sense. Thanks Tony!! Edit: So....does it go on top or bottom of the springs. Didn't come with any instructions or anything. I'm guessing the bottom, like a poly spacer on the franky, but want to be sure. |

Since these are made of steel they go under the OEM isolators. I don't think it makes any difference fitting them on the top or the bottom. I'd fit them between the top isolater and the top plate. ( Can you believe I've seen these with a Chrysler star and part nÂș on them? Must be an export thing. But those were too fitted on the top end of the strut) |

Thanks for the info, Tony. I'm getting a front bumper soon and swapping my front OME MD for the HD coils and adding this spacer for an extra boost!! |

how much will they lift the front? will this do the same thing(as in hieght) as adding a top 1/4" spacer inbetween the body and the shock top plate(like the rustys top plate spacer)? i might get these and put them inside my front shocks/spring assembly |

I've heard a lot of bad review about rustys strut plate spacer, that they don't fit properly and the holes need to be driller out further. A lot of people made their own strut spacer. Looked around and found this, it was cheaper than rustys and it was made by JBA (Marlin) so you know it is good!! Another question, I will be buying daystars upper strut plate and poly spacer that comes with the franky. Will there be enough "space" in the coil assembly to fit this 1/4" steel spacer?? So basically with the 3/4" (?) franky poly spacer and this 1/4" steel spacer = 1-inch of spacers. Which equals another 2-inches of lift on top of the OME HDs (around 2-2.5" lift)......bad idea?? That is 5-5.5" of lift. |

I like the top plate idea, easy , simple and it works great, just Rustys is crap fitting, I use the measurements of of a stock top plate to make mine |

can you put this ring in the "rancho/stock top plate/ome hd" springs assembly, or do you need a daystar top plate? i never understood how that franky works, if you need the daystar top plate, to make more room for the 3/4" spacer with OME HD's......... wouldnt that be the same as the OME HD springs with the stock top plate WITHOUT the 3/4" spacer?? or something like that i know the franky is higher, i just cant figure out exactly why haha, its got a lot to do with math i guess..... preload, spring rate, way the spacers are etc. edit: now that i think about it, i guess the daystar top plate mostly takes the stress off the strut while the wieght is off the assembly and/or out of the vehicle. when u think about it, the spring plus the 3/4" spacer would no doubt make it higher, (when u just lay the whole assembly out in your head side by side un-compressed(one with the stock top plate and no 3/4" spacer, and one with the daystar plate WITH the 3/4" spacer) ) get it now |

It takes pre-load off the coil over so you can get the coil-over together. It then takes more force to compress the coil-over, thus you get more lift. |
