With the frankenlift i installed the new als a arms. now the bolt that you put the cotter pin through is extremely loose i could twist it either way a little bit but i did put the cotter pin through the bolt and whatnot just not sure if it is supposed to be that loose. could you tell me if this is supposed to be like this or if it is supposed to be tight

bolt is loose? are you talking about the ball joint itself?(the nut ) It should be tight and not be able to move it , if I am thinking about what you are talking about.

im talking about the slotted nut with the cotter pin that goes through it.if i grab the wheel and push it towards the passenger side and back it is loose and so is the slotted nut. im not sure if i need to put the washer on the top of the nut or what

confused here, the nut is on the ball joint and should be tight, not sure how it is moving if you tightened it to specs, looks like from the picture you have everything togethere right , just make sure it is tight

yes its the nut that connects to the ubj. should I put a washer on top of the nut? because if i dont and i just tighten it i will not be able to get the cotter pin through. If you cant tell this is my first lift for the kj.

Yes, you should have a washer above the nut, and that nut should be torqued to 60 ft. lbs.

Torque to 60ft-lbs, then continue tightening until you get the next slot on the castle nut to line up with the cotter pin hole. Like others have noted, you may need a washer or two so that the castle nut doesn't thread past the cotter pin hole.
