So, I've made another big step in my walk towards mechanical competency. Sunday morning, the heater fan on my KJ stopped working, it would only work on 4. I asked around and someone told me it was the blower motor resistor. I went to my Dodge Jeep dealer and asked them, they confirmed and sold me the part. I even managed to replace it my self. I know, taking the glove box out and replacing the resistor isn't exactly a engine swap, but hey, who knows what I will be doing in a few months right? As long as the parts get here in time, thursday I will be chopping off my muffler and clamping on a new super 44 offroad, ooooohh yah baby!

YOu worked through a problem, figured it out and fixed it yourself probably saving yourself a couple hundred bucks and a day or two of down time at a dealer. 8)

Pat pat pat..... I bet you smiled a lot after you were through right? darn cool.

Thanks guys! The total cost of the part was something like $26+tax, total installation time was maybe 30min. Tomorrow will be a bigger job, assuming I get the muffler in I will be installing that. So wish me luck!

now start changing your own oil too! and rotating tires, and PCV valve, and diff/gearbox fluid and...well you get my point, it's all fun!

I'll start rotating the tires as soon as I get a air impact wrench/gun and a torque wrench, which will likely be in Jan. As far as the oil's go, well, that seems messy, and is so cheap anyways. I like the DIY stuff, but I do have to balance cost/time, so if something costs me $200, and is only 20min, I will do it myself, if something costs me $30, and takes me 20min, I will get it done somewhere else. This might not make sence to all but it works for me :)

Good stuff, nothing beats the satisfaction of doing something yourself for cheap that would otherwise cost you big buckerooo's. This weekend I have the 1/2 o2 sensor and tran fluid to do. Got to wait till the turkey gets out of my system before I go ahead with those projects thooo...
