I did a little searching on google and found a company called Spec Clutches that makes a clutch kit for our trucks. Has anyone ever heard of spec clutches be4, and would it even be worth going for a high performance clutch like this? http://www.specclutch.com/ Thanks -Mike |

I have a friend that has used their products before and was pretty happy with them. I may be speaking out of turn here since I am running and auto, but I don't think there have been many issues with the clutches in the Libertys. If you don't need to replace it, I would spend the money elsewhere on the Jeep. |

I agree with the above, plus an ultra grip clutch should never be on the list until your engine has to much power and the rest of the drivetrain can take a good hit. The engine is good and has plenty of power, loads of traction *considering tires,4x4,road surface* that power has to go somewhere and when you take the "wearable" out of a wearable item that sends the power to the next in line, theres alot of things between the clutch and tires I wouldn't want to break, but IF the whole system is bullet proof, you just spin the tires and go. IF you can't spin the tires easily and your clutch doesn't slip thats 235 ft-lbs of torque with no home and its goin somewhere. |
