looks good, buy one and tell me how you like it and how it sounds. Might be in direct competition with the Magnaflow, or could it be the same thing?

They are a top notch muffler manufacturer for Diesels I understand. They recently started making systems for jeeps. The only cat back to actually make power with the JK, so the KJ's probably isn't a bad deal either.

I think it's a very fair price. If it's not too loud, then I'll buy it! Make the purchase so we can have a report! :D

It's a well made bolt on system that you can install yourself (hope you have a warm garage  ). By the time you buy a good muffler and have a shop install it you will be paying close to that much anyway. I don't think its a "screaming" deal or anything but by the same token, I don't think it's outrageously priced either.

$351 is a good deal? It better give you 10 more MPGs and take you out to lunch at least once a week. Sorry but you can do a muffler swap and buy all the factory skids for that price

Tom, come on man! You know how POOR late-model car exhaust systems are! You NEED a stainless exhaust so it doesn't rust out in 2-3 years like ALL late model cars' exhausts seem to do nowadays!

mbrp is a widely known diesel truck exhaust.
some of the guys i know run the full tbe
system and swear by it. there are a few
guys who say the system has a bit of drone
to it, but i wouldnt think that you would have
much drone on a kj gasser. they are a bit
pricey as well.

Actually I think it is a pretty fare price for stainless steel and a LIFETIME warranty. I also like this part...

MBRP performance muffler and minimal bend degree angle design you can count on squeezing every ounce of torque and horsepower your engine has to offer.

what is the stock exhaust made out of, old budweiser cans then? :? Stock has about the straightest shot there is, if you look at any aftermarket they follow the same path, oh well and then they complain about spending 100 to replace a water pump???

I bought the exhaust and I have to say I am happy. 4wd actually is giving 10% off on orders so I paid $316 plus ship. It sounds nice, it has a growling sound, not overpowering, it took me about 2 days to become used to the sound. It sounds real mean when you start it up and my Libby does feel a little bit peppier and torquey.,

Any chance you can get us a video clip with sound? That would be awesome. Cause as much as SS and less bends sounds nice to have it is all about the sound for me. 8)

I spoke with Dave at MBRP (1-888-636-7223) http://www.mbrp.com/?page=products&part ... &make=Jeep
His wife’s 2007 Jeep Liberty was the test vehicle for the Jeep Liberty cat back set-up that you see in this thread. The dyno showed an increase of 7 horsepower and 18 ft/lb of gain. Dave said that he didn’t do any before and after fuel economy testing, but he seems to believe that there is a fuel increase. He also noted that the vehicle seemed very responsive after adding the muffler. Also, the muffler isn’t loud inside the cab, however it becomes more noticeable when the vehicle is under load or going up a steep grade. Obviously, as seen in the photo, this is a straight through design and not an offset which I like.

DYNO Results: http://www.mbrp.com/products/dyno/S5510.pdf

STOCK 156 hp @ 5350
STOCK 168 ft/lb @ 4800

MBRP 163 hp @ 5000
MBRP 179 ft/lb @ 3700

2 years ago, we drove to the Canfield show with an F150 with MBRP on it. We towed a YJ on a trailer. Everytime the truck pulled a hill, the drone in the cab was so bad, I had to open a window. After the drive up and back, I swore never to get in the truck again. Every time we stopped for gas, I got to put the driver side pipe back in its rubber hanger. It would pop out after 5 mins of driving.

On the good side, I got to see Tommudds Libby at the hotel in Ohio just days after buying my CRD. I felt cool.

..If that is an actual photo of the Liberty exhaust, then it appears to have a lot fewer bends than factory (which has stupid little kinks all over for no apparent reason). ..Then again, mine has even less bends, and a Magnaflow muffler, and cost me like $80. To each his own.

Still looks nice, though.
