I recently acquired a heavy vibration/noise only between 20 and 30 mph in my 2007. Doesn't do it when I am accelerating. I thought it was a wheel bearing even though it wasnt constant. I took it in to Jeep dealer and they decided ut was a torque converter so they replaced it. Didnt help. I go back in tomorow because Chrysler has advised them to do something with my computer(s) and maybe try a special kind of transmission fluid. Grasping at straws in my opinion. anyone else have this problem? Also in spite of having the TSB done, does anyone know how to get rid of the whistling noise coming from the intake?

Check your rear driveshaft u-joints.

I just replaced the ones on my 2006 CRD and it took care of my vibration. (install the greaseable ones approx $15 ea.)

Post subject:  Not u joints

They had it yesterday and scanned all the computers and sent the data to Chrysler. Next step is they will have me bring it in and give me a rental while they deal with it. Hope they dont lemon law it. I like my 2007 and do not want a KK.
If they change the transmission fluid to some new fluid they have, am I out of line to expect that they should extend the warranty, at least on my transmission?

but still.....I guess easier for them, but compare the cost of a new driveshaft -vs- 2 u joints and then you wonder why the companies have the financial problems they do now, cause of stupid stuff like that and people expecting it!

Just an FYI, getting an item replaced on warranty doesn't extend your warranty.

Just extends that parts warranty.Any part bought and installed at a dealership will have a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on the part.

They replaced the rear driveshaft.
I am aware that warranty wont get extended because of new parts, excpet for the warranty on that particular part. My question about waaranty was because I was told that they wanted to try a new transmission fluid that Chrysler had come out with and wondered if they should extend warranty on transmission. Turns out they didnt do that but did try to fix problem by putting friction reducer in my rear diff. New quesiton... can I leave friction reducer in my rear diff or should I drain it out?
