| Post subject: | Ox Locker |
Has anyone thought about installing an Ox Locker in the front of their Libby... I have thought about doing it for my YJ but now I am also thinking about doing it in my KJ... I know it will fit in a YJ/TJ Dana 30.. Will it fit in a KJ Dana 30... Thanks in advance, Ben |

I do not know for sure, but I would bet that the Ox Locker wouldn't fit since the insides are slightly different on the IFS as compared to the SA. If ring and pinion gears are not interchangeable why would carrier itself be any different? I think your only options up front are the ARB and the Aussie Locker. I'd try the Aussie Locker its only $229 and it fits (considering ordering one soon so I couldn't tell you how it works). |

Well you can try a true-trac also. A gear driven LSD that I hear works quite well with a little brake modulation. I know both ARB and true-trac are carrier replacements. The ARB uses the same part number RD100 for both the IFS Dana 30 and the regular dana 30. And I believe the same it true for the true-trac. People have run both without problems. Not sure how much different the housing is, but those carrier replacements work so a Ox-locker might work. Only difference I heard between the D30 IFS and the standard D30 is the lenght of the pinion, hence why there are no aftermarket gears. |

If you go the limited slip route I would recommend the installation of a hand-throttle. In the Army, we use them on our Humvees to modulate the brakes for our Torsen limited slips (most people think we are lucky enough to have front and rear lockers). rubicon express sells a universal kit. |

Thanks for the feedback.. I was looking at the interior of the KJ today and trying to run a cable and mounting the shifter would be a pain in the butt.. After reading some of the posts here.. I think I am going to look at the Aussie Locker.. By the instructions.. It doesn't look that bad to install... I might buy 2 and install one in my YJ D30... Thanks, Ben |

FYI, An OX won't work. They come with a new Diff cover that contains part of the actuator for the Mech locker. It won't fit on an IFS=> won't work on the KJ. Sux, casue even though I work where I work, they make a decent product and are starting to turn things around. |
