I've been reading up a bit on lockers and noticed that the front d30a axle is aluminum, this is pretty week for a locker (or so I am told) espically a air locker. Is there a more solid axle around without going sfa? |

an ARB air locker wont hurt it, there are some members on here that have one or even the Detroit Truetrac, I have one of those and so do others and they get wheeled hard and haven't broke yet |

The front diff breaks when you get the [front] wheels spinning and then suddenly grab traction. This causes the differential case, or housing, to expand to deal with the stress which then causes the failure. A locker or limited slip differential when used properly would not increase your chances of grenading the front diff. |

A locker or limited slip differential when used properly would not increase your chances of grenading the front diff. I wonder if this could also happen when driving on lets say an icy/snowy road? |

If you suddenly grab a bunch of traction with the front wheels spinning really fast, than chances are you will grenade the front diff. Even on a snowy road. |
