Can we have a setup like this for our KJ's?

Hard to believe that bullbar is in fact a MOPAR part!

looks good but hangs down way too low IMO I think it would get damaged fairly easy there

I suppose, But then again it depends what & how hard you wheel. I've never been close to a situation where I would damage that winch set-up.

if my winch was there.. i would've planted it in the mud and hills many times by now... i value and use my approach angle :) but it does look sick.. and i could see why someone would find that very very useful and hey.. any winch is A LOT better than no winch. plus this is a cheap and nice way to get one on your rig.

isn't that just one of the stock renny bumpers with the winch mounted behind the hole that the ft. license plate holder covers?

yep its just a regular OEM bumper

See.. I'd love to do that, but, I want an actual bull bar, putting the winch back there would probably be in the way of the bar mounts since if i remember on the fab thread he lost placement of one tow hook so i guess i'd have to put a bull in and put a hitch receiver where the winch is on that one, so i could use a winch carrier with hitch mount so that i could move it fairly easily from front to rear or for storage

i'm somewhat lightly considering a go rhino 3000 center guard at the moment

you are correct, by mounting the winch this way you lose your tow hooks or grille guard mounts.

Go to AEV and read up on the build, not your normal Jeeps, they had a lot done to them for the little journey they took

no its a TJ universal winch mount upside down, welded to the unibody, the front plate was custom made out of aluminun to be able to conform to the extra low section of the winch. I originaly posted these pictures and Iam still in contact with htese guys in France. Here is anotherone

also according to the info I got from them that Rescue KJ only has a 2" lift on it and 245x70x16 most of us would tower over them. As far as the approach angle yeah you would loose some but you be trading it in for the weight of the ARB and the winch. winch would come in at about 85lbs, the plate another 20, considering that unless you use synthetic rope you are looking at approx 200lb after youre done. Fair trade I think.

Ahh i see the difference between the stock bumper and the first one now, holes are about twice as large

both of those are really nice

LIV42DY have you done this setup yet? I know you was talking about it awhile ago. Any new info/pics you got from the Rescue KJ guys? I got the winch just need the winch plate. One step closer right? LOL

Still doesn't answer my question, what if we cut into the OEM beam that's behind the bumper? Make a beam with a winch plate to replace the OEM one?

Then the winch could sit higher up like on that commander. If we could get a setup that is around $250/$300 I'd buy it ... (without a winch ofcourse!)
