Post subject:  Recovery mount install
Looking for winch mounting in the lower part of the renegade bumper.
I went to a site called Indian cars. Over there is a KJ called indian rescue. They lift and add off road features to various Jeeps models. They have an impressive line up of what they call Indian Rescue jeeps.
I saw on thier KJ the winch is mounted low ""in"" the stock Renegade bumper. Does any one have info on where I can get the mounting hardware for this particular type of install? I have seen the mounts for on the bumper but never in the lower part of the bumper.
Any comments pros or cons would also help. :? :?

I dont know here the thread is but there is a couple page long thread about that very KJ, the biggest con to me is that the bumper hangs down real low making your expensive winch hang down low also which makes it very vulnerable IMO

if i remember correclty that uses a slightly modified TJ winch mount, there is a thread around here detailing it, i'll find it if you don't find it while i'm looking

someone with a bit of knowledge of the vehicle stated that it's a TJ universal winch mount welded to the unibody upside down, and that the center section of the bumper, while it looks like the factory center of the bumper, actually isn't

apparently the center section is a fabricated aluminum atleast on one of the vehicles, i'm still not 100% convinced the indian rescue kj doesn't still have the entire factory bumper shell

liv42dy is waiting for winter to be over, he's doing something similar to what youre looking for using this mount
