My ujoints are on their way out so I'm looking to get the beefier ones from NAPA, but they're asking me what size my yolk is... I have no idea (is it really any of their business? Anyway, how would I find out? My options are 3.5" or 4" Thanks. |

4" yoke. That is what I used in my 2002 sport 4x4 auto 45rfe. |

Do yourself a favor and don't use greasable joints (Hollow body) The dana solid cross (similar to what came on the liberty) Is one of the better out there. |

Thanks. I already ordered both the 3.5" and the 4" and will take back whichever I don't need. I will report back to let you guys know! Oh and, I've already had poor experience with greasable joints. Non-greasable all the way!!! |

I always buy the greasable ones. Never had problem. You do have to install them correctly for strength though. |

Totally confused as to what problems people have out of greasable U-joints x2. Why dont we all go buy sealed ball joints as well. |

Screw it. When ThunderbirdJunkie needs balljoints next He is just going to run a big bolt from the LCA to the knuckle, eliminating the need for said balljoint! |

high-torque / high driveline shock applications will fail greasables 4 to 1 in comparason to solids I used to snap them right across where the grease fittin went in i don't think i'd worry an awful much about greasables in our KJ's run whatever makes ya sleep good at night |

they didnt make greasable ujoints for my cheyenne that were big enough for me not to break them.. guess i coulda changed yokes and dshafts and used a light dumptruck ujoint because i broke the solid ones frequently too just nowhere near as frequently as the greasables my T/A would break a greasable every now and then too but you're right, in a KJ shouldn't be breakin either one guess im kinda comparing apples to oranges here but the solids let me sleep at night but yeah, 10-50 lb ujoints are greasable because they usually require removing a 100 lb driveshaft while your head is squeezed between the rear tires of a dump truck to remove them i just meant with typical passenger apps |

I see there are two choices for u-joints for the rear. Neapco #'s 1-0153 and 2-0048. What size outside lock up is on my 03 KJ V6? Anybody use the Neapco Brute Force series? How big a job is it to change the rear shaft joints in the driveway? |

i just changed my u joints a couple months ago. these u joints have the grease fitting* on the cap so there is no stress riser on the cross...i'd imagine that they are just as strong non-greaseable ones. * they are not the typical zerk fitting we are all used to. these require a needle type adapter to get the grease in. messy but effective. |

Brand? Part Number? i've slept since then! i bought the u joints from o'reilly's...It was either a p/n 270 or 280, whichever is for the 4 inch yoke....i want to say it was the 270. |

Thats a Precision P/N. I checked the O'Reilly's web site and it wasnt very helpful in the selection. I guess I'll have to get under it unless someone knows which joint is for the 3.73 rear. |
