I wouldnt go past 3.5" but if you got the Franky you would be fine you might need to buy Al's A-Arms, or you can just go with OME HD coils and a clevis and a strut plate in the front and add a upper rear iso and be just as high as the Franky for a lot less.

i was thinking about getting the teraflex 2 inch budget lift with the front and rear spacers and jba a-arms plus jba rear ylink drop bracket and longer rear shocks. im currently running 31x11.5 ss ltb's on a 15 inch rim with 3.5 inch back spacing and im switching to 31x10.5 bf tko's cause my ltb's wear to fast on the road, absolutly amazing in the mud but it is like driving over speed bumps all the time and cause there bias ply the are all over the road

if you get the terraflex I would be surprised if you needed new a-arms and the rear y-link drop bracket.

I would actually recommend getting the 2.5 Daystar with Rancho RSC17004

as long as the springs arn't shot that would be great. Mine are, they wern't last year when I wanted to get daystar, but by now its all worn out. Remember, when you get a spacer lift, you will gain hieght based on where you are, if you go suspension, it is based on what you should be. If you are 2" lower than where you should be, and you get a 2.5" spacer lift, you will be .5" higher than where you should be, if you get a 2.5" coil lift, you will be 2.5" bigger than where you should be, and 4.5" bigger than where you actually are!

If your Rusty's has sagged in the front to 2" what's the point in replacing it with a 2" spacer lift?.... For a cheap fix, just add a 3/8" - 1/2" clevis in the front for a 3/4" - 1" boost.

To make it as tall as when it came off the lot, but ride so much worse

that wont work, you will be higher than 4"
how much are you willing to spend?

Hence the question how high can I go or if I go to 4 inches how hard is it to cut my cv's and how do I do it

is your rusts life the spacer or the spring? Perhaps you should look at either the franky, or the 4"/6" lift by jba......

I have the rustys spring lift and I was looking at the terraflex option because it comes with the bigger bumpstops front and rear and its only 400 bucks were as the jba or the franky lift I will spend a lot more

you can piece together a OME HD lift with all new shocks for $650 shipped to you and you should get about 3" from it and it wont sag near as bag as Rustys

Sorry I can get tshe teraflex to me for 300 plus I want to get the jba arms anyway and I have been really happy with my rustys lift the whole reason I started the post was I wanted to know how tall people have gone on uncut cv axles without problems

What you are wanting to do will not work

Post subject:

why not if i put the backbone winch mount and a tube bumper i figure i lose another .5 to .75 and then if i put 2 inch spacers i'ld be at 4 in the rear and 3.5 in the front

for one thing if your springs are already starting to sag that means that the coils are closer together than when they were new, now adding in the Teraflex is going to cause more pressure on the springs which will make them sag even more, so in 3 months you will be sitting with the coils stacked all of the time.

Hence , the it will not work, may sound good on paper but not in the real world.

But go ahead and do it and report back in a few months

i dont understand why the teraflex lift is going to put more stress on the coils because the spacer plate mount to the top of the strut so the strut is untouched it would be the same as a clevis lift just on the top. can you clarify

Author:  jsc7002 [ Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:38 am ]
Post subject:

because your not going to change anything in the front but add a 2" spacer which is going to compress the already weak and sagging coils even more, until they are stacking.

Your coils are shot, thats why you have lost however much lift you have, what you are wanting to do is a band aid repair and yes it will put more stress on the already sagging coils due to them already being weak , putting more whatever if top plate, spacer plate , clevis whatever you do is only going to last a short time before you are sitting coil on top of coil.
