Has anybody done this? Since my KJ is black the roof lights(mopar light bar) look like crap because it's a bit faded. So I want to know if paint will hold up well and if it will look good. Same goes for the wheel wells, since I put in the Frankenlift you can see the wheel wells much better and again because of the Jeep being black the wells look kinda grayish. Thanks again for your input guys. |

The plastic paint I believe is the Krylon Fusion. Good prep is the key. For the wheel wells... I suggest bigger tires. Should hide the liners much better. |

Use a heat gun on the light bar. It will un-fade it. scrub the F out of the fender liners, then rinse, then let dry, then hit them with some tire shine once a week or so. |

Don't paint the wheel wells or light bar. And this works out better with you being a canadian, go to www.eshine.ca they have a product to apply to black plastic/vinyl that restores it. If I have enough time today I will track the product name and list it here. I am friends with the owner so I can assure you he knows his stuff, and will get you what you need at the best price possible. http://www.eshine.ca/products.php?cat=13 black wow trim restorer. My advice would be to call his toll free number 1-888-392-8766, let him know Colin sent ya, and explain what it is you are looking to accomplish, wheel wells/light bar, and since I plan on going there later today if he needs to check mine out to see what works best he can. |

Ive heard about that black wow. Pretty sure you can also get it from Autodetailingsolutions.com(where I order all my detailing stuff). A small drop goes a long way from what Ive read with that stuff. |

Yep, I talked to him this afternoon and the black wow is what he suggests. He has another product that will dress the black plastic, like using the tire shine, but it will only last about a weak before you need to re-apply. Where as the black wow actually treats the oxidization and leaves a lasting finish. You can buy it from many vendors, however if you are in canada it will be more expensive to order it from an american vendor than if you went with a canadian one like www.eshine.ca |
