Anyone know where to find a functional bull bar that is similar to what you can get for a TJ or a brush guard that is not really bulky looking? |

Try looking at the ones made by Westin or Go Rhino if you don't want too much bulk, Romik makes one that is essentially just a rectangular tube that outlines the grill, with wings that protect the headlights, no mesh or crossbars, very minimalist. hope that helps, Andy |

functional....most are for looks only since they are made out of very thin tubing, will rust through in a very few years , only functional is ARB or something like that |

Tom Has the right idea, I wasn't sure what kind of functional we were talking about here, as far as keeping light scrapes off the bumper, lights, light brush, etc. westin will suffice, The ones made by Go Rhino work out fairly well. I had a Go Rhino on my old explorer sport, and i used it to knock over small trees on our property to make trails, but it didn't take a whole lot to do some damage, not to mention all the abuse i put it through did some heavy damage to the powder coat, leading to rust. As far as serious protection/winching/recovery, ARB or similar products are really the only way to go. |
