You could always hold off on doing gears. With the KKs you can go as low as 4.88s.

ThunderbirdJunkie would do it. You have the capacity, might as well!

BUUUUUUUUUT wouldn't 285s be way cooler on a 6 inch?8)

That being said, you can always wait for it

I am guessing he wants to run 265/75/16 or 285/35/16 tires and wants to know if he should swap gears with them.

I would have gone for gears with my 31s but that is wasted money in my mind because I will be getting deeper gears when I SFA. Didn't want to do it twice.

For you, I'd swap em unless you are in the same boat I am.

17 then? I only run 31s, 33s or 35s it seems.

I did the math and a 285/35/16 is like a 23" tire.

It must be a 235/85 not 285/35.

Oops I mean 235/85. I actually talk to marlin he said 6" can be done but it will take a few weeks and I live in pa so that is a long way it's to bad too because I could go awhile without the kk. It just sucks that it all has to be sunk in at once gears 200$ and 229$ locker 299$ lift 2243$ tires 800$ then all the install it's like 6 grand or so I could afford half now but then I'd have to wait 6 months for the rest who wants a locked and gear swapped jeep on 28s LOL [/quote]

Locked KK with deep gears and 225/75-16 MT's would still be pretty gnarly 8)

With 265/75's or 235/85's you will want 4.10's at least,4.56's would be much better if you have the 42RLE in that KK.You will be amazed at the difference they will make.4.56's would really waken up the KK sitting 32" tires without sacrificing mpg's since it will be easier to get the KK moving, highly doubt highway mpg's would be effected if you keep to the speed limit.

if you have a 6 speed it makes stock gears livable with 265/75/16's... if you have an auto i'd say def. regear

You shouldn't loose much torque. Now if those tires were a D or E rated, I would worry because of the weight, but only being a C you should be fine
