I'm going on 4 hours ON ONE SIDE so far!!!!!!!
What a witch. Now I'm stuck with tightening the nut for the upper control arm and the tie rod nut won't go on either. The shaft just spins as I try to tighten the nuts. Any special tools I should know about?? The nuts came off easily because everything is kinda seized into place.....
Thanks
I might have to do the other side tomorrow if I can't finish this one tonight

3 hour job, why so long??

Also why did you take the tie rods off, don't need to do that.

As far as the upper ball joint take a long bar, or what ever stick it back into the spring and pry down on the upper control arm ( a lot) also you may have to tap on top of it with a hammer to seat it down in and that will help  install the nut and tighten. I will keep checking back, if you were in the USof A I would say call me but...may be an expensive call

I was going by some instructions from this site....that part might not even be called a tie rod for all I know hahahahahaha
Anyhow, I figured it out.
The end of the shaft the nut goes onto is kinda like a hex....a 10mm socket fits on it but I couldn't figure out how to hold that and turn the nut too since I didn't have a 21mm wrench.
I just threw some good ole vice grips on the nut and used a ratchet wrench on the end of the ball joint and bingo it's done.
The main reason why it took so long is because at the beginning I was trying to keep and eye on my 3 year old son who wanted to play outside and check out what I was doing.....finally I told my wife to take him in the house so I could concentrate on what I was doing....I also didn't follow some instructions to the T
The other side shouldn't take me long tomorrow....
Thanks for the reply Tom, very much appreciated!!!
Man she's sitting high now....even the side with stick spring and shock is higher
Have a good night guys!!

The bottom of the shaft has a place for a wrench to go on. Its made for that. :)

Or you can use tommuds method.

I used a ratchet strap wrapped around lower and upper arms to pull the upper control arm down tight...seats the ball joint shaft so it won't turn, worked great.

I knew that, I just didn't know how to hold it and turn the nut at the same time.....ok ok ok, no more talk about shafts and nuts please. lol

I also found out the hard way that jack position on the LCA is crucial when re-assembling everything....a couple times I was lifting the whole Jeep off the stands....thought the shock wasn't working properly or the spring was too stiff
If it wasn't so cool out I'd go do the other side right now but I'm allergic to cold.
Thanks for the replies guys.

You were not the only one having some first time installation lift problems, spent some time on the phone with another member on here trying to help him out long distance! He got his done though

Finally done!!! Took me a little over an hour to finish the other side. Makes a big difference knowing where to pound and what to remove DOH!
While I was at it I took the horns out and put in the trumpet style horns
All I need now is an alignment and I'm all set...except for the rattle coming from the exhaust somewhere below the driver's seat area....yes it was there before I lifted
I hope the front will settle a bit because it looks alot higher than the back....but the back springs and shocks have been on for about a month.

I'm getting alot of creaking and such when I apply the brakes though. I'm assuming that will go away once the coils sit well in the rubber right??
BTW it feels like I'm riding 10 feet higher and it turns ALOT of heads 8)
