I have a 05 Liberty Sport and I have a problem with the transfer case shift lever. When I try and shift into 4 HI or 4 Low it does nothing. The lever has almost no resistance. Has anyone had any similar problems? Perhaps a problem with the linkage? The jeep came with the 7 year 70K powertrain warenty but I don't know that would cover this or if that warenty even still exists after the bailout.

Well since your tax dollars are covering the warranty anyways I doubt it will get covered by a powertrain warranty that only covers internally lubricated parts which the shifter cable is not.

Just save the headache and crawl under your jeep and check the t-case end, hook back up if it is not broken or replace the $50 cable that takes about 30mins to R&I.
