Could i see some pictures of how you have installed your mufflers...i think i will be getting the flowmaster super 44 really soon and was just curious as to how you installed them. |

the 44 is shorter than the factory muffler, so you just need to extend the front or rear pipe and weld it in place, i cant remember which side its offset too... someone should chime in here. |

i was just thinking of taking everything from the muffler back out and putting the new muffler in and a little dump down after the muffler like VoodooMann did here http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=42387 should i do the same thing with my flowmaster? |

The size of the flange on the front of the muffler actually measures 2.25, but the pipe ahead of the flange, and the the out are 2.5 |

I used the Thrush Turbo 17718. It is the longer of the 2 that are listed in this LINK The longer Can gives it a little deeper sound. Here are some pics of the installation.
And a video of the sound. And Like TJ said with his video, it sounds a lot better in real life. Camera phones just don't do justice...
Also, for an easy install get the the intermediate pipe that tkj2002 and I used and shown in the photos. It is a 6" long x 2.5 in diameter pipe with the stock KJ exhaust flange already welded on and 2 studs pressed in (M10x1.5 threads in case you need to get new nuts like I did). Just for everyone else's reference, it is Dynomax PN 51002 or Walker PN 52422.

OOO, i went with the thrush magnum glasspack on my old truck, LOVED that, buddy of mine has those turbos on his truck, they sound real good too. And also, HOW DID YOU FIND THAT FLANGE?! i looked for days and couldn't find one, so i just ended up cutting mine off the stock muffler! and also, how much did it cost? |

Found it courtesy of tjkj2002. Here it is on Summit: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku I got mine from rockauto. You should be able to search for that P/N and find it several places online. |

Ow, $30 was a little more than i had in mind, i'll go cut one off a salvage yard KJ/Nitro. I've already got one, but i need another one, so i can have swappable exhaust. Or if anyone still has their stock muffler lying around, i'd take that too, if you're close enogh to drive to. |

I tried all of the local salvage yards. Figured that would be easy. But they all strip the entire exhaust off of every car when they do the incoming processing. They get a lot of $$ for recycling the cats. Lots of KJs with no exhaust flange. Hope you have better luck. |

i do not see a need for that intermediate pipe..can you not just cut everything from that piece back and just put in the muffler and the dump..so in other words save the old one or can you not do that? |
