Make sure you go over all the nuts and bolts to make sure they are tight.
When I put the rear lift in a few days later my shocks when knocking a bit and needed to be re-tightened. They are fine now.
I put the front in 2 weeks ago and purposely waited till today to do the front brakes today so that I may check everything over again. Sure enough, my clevis assemblies needed to be tightened as well as the UCA nut on one side and sway bar nuts too. Everything was torqued last time....
Now all is tight and my front brakes are perfect.....going in tomorrow morning to see if the dealer will do an alignment on a lift KJ

I'd go some where else instead of the dealership as well. A) it will be more expensive, B) the one alignment (on lifted liberty) I ever did at the Jeep Dealership near me sucked, wound up getting it redone elsewhere 2 weeks later. Best bet is a tire shop, somewhere that specializes in alignments.

Called one dealer and they quoted me $100
Called an Auto Service place called Canadian Tire (kinda like Walmart) they quoted my $90 but then said there's no warranty and after looking at it said the springs were too close to the UCAs.
Went to another dealer yesterday the have my exhaust checked and asked them how much for an alignment....the guy says "$80....and it's been that since 1991, there's no reason to jack the price"
So I told him my KJ was lifted he said " That's fine, our guy here works on lifted and custom Jeeps all the time, he loves it!"
So now it's done and it's perfect.

But I agree with you guys in most cases, DON'T GO TO THE DEALER for stuff like that. But at least try different ones before giving up on them.

Ya the dealership is such a rip off. If I
need a part I call my friend that works
at a Mack dealer and he orders the
parts I need for about half the price
from the same dealership that I asked
about for a part. They really know how
to screw the average Renny owner....

I've been told by the high end tire shops that they cannot properly align a lifted Liberty. The issue is the newer laser machines are automatically set for a stock range of tires that normally goes on a vehicle. So the issue is tire size. In my case I could not use Goodyear and wound up going to a "tire shop" where I got burned with very bad alignment....discussed in another thread. Considering the outrageous cost of tires today (recession didn't help a bit) it's important to get it perfect. And and I discovered it can impact our safely going down the road in wet conditions.

All this information from you folks going through a lift is a great help since I'll be relifting mine with new parts in the coming week.

My gosh, $100 for a alignment is insane.. I pay $30 and I get to stand by my Jeep and make sure they do it right. :)

that's why I don't feel bad at all for car manufacturers and their dealers going belly up....but that's for another thread

Reason your friend gets cheaper prices is that his shop has a account with that dealership which allows them to get the parts at cost and tax free.Every shop does high mark ups on parts,it's a general rule of about 100%-200% markup

Totally false, they just don't want to deal with a lifted vehicle.I work at a "high end" tire place and have zero difficulty in aligning a lifted KJ.We can not align anything with 22" or larger rims, certain aftermarket rims with tires with bead protectors, and cars with 13" or smaller wheels.

My brother in law has a shop, sometimes he gets parts from Atuozone, advance auto, etc. He pays the same as I would walking in the store, and he still adds 50-100% markup when working on the car....insane, but that's one way shops make money.
I've been quoted $199 for a lifetime alignment, luckily I know someone who works there  and got a basic one for a lot cheaper.

that reminds me.....
I asked the dealer if they had a lifetime alignment package and he laughed at me, he thought I was kidding. He said it didn't exist. I said "OH yes it does....in the States" It was a "fun" conversation, the guy was real nice and professional.

I paid $79.99 for my lifetime alignment, granted I work at the store but it is good at any of 2600 stores world wide.
