Post subject:  OME rear shock question

A few days ago I ordered parts from JBA to relift my KJ with OME parts instead of Rough Country. I got pretty much everything except and rear springs, will get them later.

Question, I wanted the OME N-132L shocks and I ordered the regular N-132 by mistake. I called and canceled because they said they were out of stock on the L version. Now I see the order has been shipped and it's with the N-132.

How much difference is there between the regular N-132 and the N-132L? I intend to get back to at least 3 inches to fit my 17 inch tires under it.

As far as I now JBA can not sell the N132L's,I believe AllJ's is the only place you can get them unless he is a distributor for AllJ's now.The N132L's are longer then the N132's by about 2",the N132's are only 1/2" longer then OEM shocks. The Rancho 17004's are the same length as the N132L's.

Great, that's what I needed to know. I hope I can return them, I'll get in contact with JBA as soon as I can.

Thanks!!

either one will work for your KJ if you have a lift

I see that the Franky uses the non-L version. That said, I feel for the additional $1200 I'm putting into the suspension (OME springs, shocks, struts, JBA a-arms etc) I should get the parts with the most range of movement. I may want to go beyond the 3 inches of lift I I have now.

But before that I have to beef up both differentials etc. I did get some nice 8.5 inch wheels though with a 4.75 inch offset. That and the wider tires gets me a better stance.

17" tires may look a little funny on a lifted kj.. Most go with 30-31" tires.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Jeepjeepster, yep 17 inch rim not tires LOL.

Great shots tjkj2002, I think the extra 2 inches of range with the Rancho 17004's or the "L" version OME's are worth it. Heck, the price is the same with the OME's and the 17004 are cheaper. Will try to the the OME L version.
