newbie here... typical weekend warrior with my 06 CRD. commuting during the week with the occasional OHV trip into the AZ mtns, but I could use more clearance on some rocked/rutted out roads. Now that my 245/70/16s are wearing down, I was thinking about lifting and going with some 75s. I am going to do a coil lift all around, OME 927s (stock bumper), new struts and teraflex bumpstops in front, longer coils and shocks in back. question: do I need new bumpstops in back even if I have the new coils and shocks? What bump stops does anyone recommend for the rear? (I don't need to drill any hockey pucks... :-) thx.

Yes you will need the bump stops.

The most common, cost effective, and easy to come by way is the hockey pucks, rubber mallet second, but there are after market rear bump stops if you wish to spend more money with out any other real gain in performance.

For example you could grab a set of http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-Rear_Bump_Stop_4_-567.aspx and trim them down to your lift height.

But now you are paying $22 for something you can accomplish just as effectively for about $10. Both going with pucks or the JBA bumpstops will require buying bolts/washers/nylon locking nuts... so basically the pucks will cost about 1/2, should be easy to find locally, won't require shipping....

Silver diesel used some rubber wheels (casters) from home depot for bump stops. They have the hole in them, so no drilling. I think they were a couple bucks...

I wheeled for a year before I learned that those hockey puck things that came with my lift were supposed to go onto the rear perches.
