Hey Guys, I have an 05 KJ and I have an annoying squeaky (Drivers side) seat that is just driving me bonkers! I've taken it to the dealer thinking that maybe something just needed to be tightened back down, but he said that the way I sit in my Jeep that the frame is bent out of place, and I could just get a new one. Now I'm 6'2" and weigh 250lbs, so I'm not disputing his claim in any way. I lean my seat back a little bit (Not gangster like though...hehehe) because I find that all the way forward is a bit too forward. But theres gotta be some kinda grease or silicone based lubricant I can use to silence this problem. any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys! (BTW it only occurs when I go around corners) |

I had a similar problem a few months ago that was driving me nuts for about a week. It ended up being the springs that support the foam portion of the bottom seat cushion for me (The flat springs that are flush up against the foam...and tie into the seat frame). I hit them with some WD-40 all over...front, back, middle, edges...until the squeak went away. Ill also add that at no time did the squeak sound like it was coming from a spring under the seat. Originally it sounded like it was coming from the seat back hinges and would squeak when I went over bumps...eventually I just stuck my head under the seat and started thrashing and pushing on the seat with my hand/arm until I pinpointed it. Hope it helps! -Ryan |
