Post subject:  Lockers

Was wondering if I should put lockers front and rear on my 04 Kj sport? I will definately be locking my rear.

If you go with ARB, you might as well do both.

Not necessarily.. If youre just doing lockers and not gears there may or may not be a reason (depending on what youre doing) to crack te front and install a front locker. It would be way cheaper to simply put in a rear ARB than both, and you may not need both.

Something to think about.

ARBs are good in all but Im a bigger fan of the DTT DL combo its more affordable and works amazingly

Do the rear first. If you need more do the front. If you do decide to do the front take it easy with the skinny pedal

Thank you, I want to upgrade my gears to 4:10s and I thought then would be a good idea if I was going to put lockers in.

Of course, if youre going to be in there anyway add the ARB's. Ive had four rigs with dual ARB's and I love them.. Ive had Detroits, Lock Rites etc as well and Ill never have them again. Enjoy.

I also am looking to do this but was told by a few folks to avoid the front due to the housing with the lockers. Anyone have any experience or information on this?

Also, I was told going from 3.78 to 4.10 will not show that much difference for the cost? Again.. anyone with experience with any comments would be helpful.

By the way where are you looking to get the gears?

I know USAFCOP has wheeled the snot out of his KJ with F/R ARB's with no issues or breakages.I switched from 3.73's to 4.10's and gained back almost all the lost power from added weight and 32" tires, also went from 6-8mpg's city and 16mpg's highway to 10-13mpg's city and almost 22mpg's highway.I'm sitting on 32" tires(actual 31.9" measured) and hitting the scale at 5500lbs,1500lbs more then stock.

245/75's and 4.10's are perfect,265/75's are okay with 4.10's but really need 4.56's but is not to bad unless you live in CO and have to deal with long climbs all the time and 6000-14,000' altitude.

Yeah, but the traction control rocked pretty well in Coal Creek.
