Post subject:  Noisy springs???

I am hearing alot of noise from the front after my Franky install. It all sounds like springs "twinging". Anyone else encounter this after there install?

The only rubbing i am getting is my A-Arms on the bottom of the arm pocket (where it comes out of the firewall). I will be trimming that but that is not what i am hearing.

Any suggestions?

springs should settle out soon... just go beat on it some.

could also be bad bushings, sway bar links, etc.

Could be your swaybar bushing giving you their disapproval... sharp twang---> springs settling.... creak or groan--->bushings

Is it common to have noise for awhile with the new springs? This is pretty annoying. It only happens when the springs compress (speed bump, exit my driveway, etc).

There is no rubbing or contact anywhere and all bushings look to be in good shape.

Thanks.

Its common to have noise. I believe we both lifted our jeeps around the same time. My front springs are noisy over speed bumps, pot holes etc... I dont have A-arms & do have slight contact on that rubber part of the strut, But that is not causing any noise or probs atm. I do plan on getting A-arms in the near future though. I dont think we have anything to worry about. Everything will settle after some miles are put on the lift & everything is broken. I try & flex my jeep out on a daily basis to help with breaking in. If I could do it all again I would have gone with MD's instead of HD's since I don't plan on getting heavy duty bumpers.

No noise at all from mine , never has been but have heard some that makes all kinds of noise, I would spray silicone on the bushings and let it soak in good and try it again, keep trying different parts until you find it.

Not trying to Hijack the thread. Before the lift there wasnt any noise. After the lift it kinda makes a creeking noise. I am almost 100% postive its just the springs that need to be broken in.

Creaking noise over speed bumps= swaybar bushings

Insert silicone spray... reapply as needed

Could also be the torsion bar.
Check for loose nuts.
