I'm looking at stronger springs for the front of my KJ. I have a 3/16" steel front bumper with a Superskid belly pan and a 3/16" steel plate from the front bumper to the front skid that is a couple of feet wide almost. This and a full winch on the front. I want to make sure I get as much lift as possible. I need to know if anyone has tried the HD CRD springs in a setup like this. Like everyone, I want as much lift as possible. I have the skyjacker lift and I think it is sagging back to almost stock height. (soft ride coils I believe). I guess Troy is probably the closest to me in weight. Any advice Troy? |

IIRC 2006KJ used those coils. how much does your front bumper weigh? |

2006 and myself both have the OME 790 coils (CRD HD). We are both very happy with the setup, let me know if you have other questions! |

I would estimate about 200 to 225 with the winch and steel line. I plan on changing it to synthetic line soon though. I used about 2/3rds of a 4x8 sheet of steel fabricating the front bumper. I think a sheet that size weighs a little under 250 pounds (I could be way off on that). Then the superskid is pretty heavy also, possibly 60 or 70 pounds and the rock rails are about that much more... back cumper is steel and I plan on putting a swingaway tire carrier back there too. |

That answers my question then. Cause I know it is heavier than the ARB bumper. I'm going to try the CRD HD coils (also forgot, there is a Kilby gas tank skid in the back too...) |

(also forgot, there is a Kilby gas tank skid in the back too...) But I also have a rustys upper strut plate and that give me about 3.5" inches of lift. Sounds like you have a good bit more weight than me even with an ARB and warn M8000 |

i have the HD OME CRD coils like mentioned above and LOVE them.. my bumper and winch are right around 200lbs. i have a frankenlift and just replaced the OME HD for the CRD HD one.. so i have all the extra frankenlift spacers in there with it for about 3.5inches of lift... let us know how you like your new set up. |
