I mounted my fire extinquisher on my shelf in the back. Having problems getting the strap around the extinquisher, just wont go. Any ideas. Any other suggestions on mounting, placement.

I've been looking for a mount for my fire extinguisher because I want to mount it on the "shelf" as you call it below one of the rear windows.
I know there's a generic mounting bracket out there but I can't remember the name. It's used for flashlight, F/E, and other things......
I'm sure someone here will know what I'm talking about.

Thank you, I built a shelf in the back, mounted the extinquisher to the side. Will check out the mounts for the mag lite.

How did you mount it under your seat? Tried to put pics of the shelf, having trouble.

i poked around under the carpet found the wire channel

slid it a lil to the door side of the wire channel, peeked under the jeep..

sent the seat forward and used a really cheeparse power screwdriver and sent the self tapping screws home

*shrug* the self tapping screws weren't even log enough to penetrate the floorboard with the carpet and padding there but it cinched down enough that it didn't pull loose when i snatched the extinguisher out and broke the strap to put out some guy's trunk fire... on the side of the road

the fire dept gave me a free replacement

Run outside take a quick picture and post it. I would like to see the different spots to mount it.

I'm curious, is there more space under the Rene & Sport seats than there is under the Limited Power Seats? No way would a FE fit under my seats.

And I 'm curious why people aren't using the bracket supplied with most FE's when mounting on the rear side window ledges? Or are you?

I always thought the best place was REAL close to you so you could grab it and run, getting out and opening the rear window is not quick enough for some of the fires Ive seen.

True, but I stand by the fact there is no way to fit one under my power seats. Decisions, decisions...

drivers door, passenger seat, dash mount, roof, near the rear view mirror , on the head rest , on the pillar near the grab handle

just joking,

but mine has enough room for one under the seat,
with power seats you do have a lot more going on under there though

I was thinking maybe vertically on the backside of the center console? What's back there, a ash tray and vents??
