Came into some cash and need to keep the wife's KJ in good shape! Just did the front rotors at 124k (needed them since about 119k) and wow, this thing brakes like brand new again!!

Anyways, I'll be putting on some new General Grabber AT2s soon, but want to do new struts first. I'm looking at rancho struts up front and bilstein shocks in the rear. She has a longer commute than I do, and since I own two lifted jeeps, this one doesn't need to be lifted, however, I was the suspension to be better than stock (hence ranchos and bilsteins). We probalby won't sell this thing until it's got well over 200k on it!! So, I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track in terms of shocks/struts. 84/each for the rancho struts, 40/each for bilstein shocks, and then I'm going to do probably an extra spring isolator, or maybe two in the rear for ~1/2-3/4" of lift back there. My questions is about the springs up front. I don't want to do a full 2". I'd guess that the front springs probably are done, or not as good as new ones. Should I get new factory springs (can't find them on-line, but I'm sure the dealership will sell them to me for 500 bux or so!!)?? I'd consider OME front coils if they wouldn't make it higher in the front than in the rear....but I don't really want to spend money on rear coils, unless it's necessary.

Basically, I need help from you guys on what to do with front coils. Am I going in the right direction here?? It's just going to have 225/75r15 AT2s on it. This isn't for wheeling, although we take it down dirt roads and I occasionally slam it through some of the trails in the back yard, but my XJs are for real wheeling (one on 32s, the other on 36s). Thanx again for your help!!

Just do a set of OME springs all the way around. With over 100,000 miles they are shot for sure!
You can go with OME 925s which are about the same as stock or OME 926s which are a medium duty' for the rear OME 947s
New springs will set you back 70 or so each and ride will be SO much better!

of course one of the best AllJs at boulderbars.com, Heather will fix you up.
I have bought springs from all of them and all about the same price/ delivery time

So you're going to go with 15 inch tires?

you can also order the coils from Dirk at DPG Off-Road, 316-776-9900, just tell him you would like the OME HD coils for the KJ. And Boulder Bars can take care of you for the shocks, Rancho RSX17505 for the front and RSX17004 for the rear.

Nope, that was a typo, I meant 225/75r16....I'm just used to 15" wheels!! haha Thanx for the advice on where to buy!

I would lift it if she would let me!! But I guess it is good to have at least one reasonable looking vehicle in the driveway!

If you could read the bumper sticker on the left, it says "This is my daily driver!" I throw 35" ATs on though so I don't kill the TSLs.

Hey, do any of you guys have your old springs wtih low miles hanging around in the garage?? I may get OME fronts and see if I can score some newer rears and just use an extra isolator or two to bump em up a bit and run the OME shocks with them.

sorry I just threw mine away a couple months ago. your front will still be a good 2" higher than the rear if you dont do them also

So putting OME soft coils up front will put it 2" higher than the sagging rear springs with 125k on them?? darn!! I'm waiting to hear from a guy with some front springs, may be stock or 1" lift...hopefully that will not put me 2" higher than the rear! Maybe 2" in the rear. How much lift doe the OME rear springs give? medium and heavy duty?
