| Post subject: | Summer projects |
So my roof cross bars are finally done (will have pictures end of day today) and I have my next 2 projects for the summer starting to get planned out. The first is a replacement for my cb antenna, which broke off in a garage door haha. The magnetic mount that was frowned on worked great, so well that it actually broke my 2' fiberglass antenna haha. So my new solution is a spare tire mounted 4' fiberglass antenna on a heavy duty spring. This will be a perminant antenna, which is also a plus, I got very annoyed with removing the antenna all the time. And of course, pics will be attached when its done haha. Next is roof lights. I'm gonna order 4 hella 500s and a roof basket. The lights will be bolted to the basket, and I will use a trail wiring quick disconnect for the lights, this way when I want to take the basket off, I can do so very easily , and the lights go with it. The reason for this solution is when I want to put a kayak carrier, or a ski rack up there, I can take off the rack and lights very easily. |

Maybe your summer project should be getting more clearance in your garage. |

haha. Well, if I could I would. Right now I'm in underground parking at my apartment, so I can alwayse get a outside spot if I need to, but as far as teh antenna, the 4' will be about as high as the 2' on teh roof, but more flex, and the spring will fix any issues there, and for the roof rack and lights.... well I will hope for the best, or get a outside spot. I may actually be moving to a house in the suberbs soon, depending if I can get the mortgage haha. |
