The big difference would be the factory fog lights and turn signals. I believe both are reused in the 02-04s. But (some one correct me if I'm wrong) they are replaced with the 05+s. Physically mounting them should be the same. And if you're willing to find a different set of fogs and turn signals for your jeep, you can make it work. |

That's what I was thinking. Ok, so here it is. Seems like ARB just cut a piece out of the '02 model bumper to make space for the '05's grille. Why are there holes in the top? Is that for winch acces?

Not very easily... when they redesigned the front end in 05 they changed some of the mounting points just a little. 0311_Doc ran into this problem (though it was with a Trail Ready bumper, and it was going the other direction in years). It will fit but there is tweaking and IIRC re-drilling that will need to be done. 2nd problem will be cosmetic. The 05+ grill is straight across, so your first gen will have gaps under the headlights. (similar to the RL bumper in this photo). http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/RMBKJ6.jpg |

http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/RMBKJ6.jpg Hmm, yeah, that is my doubt. It seems when you look at the pics that the ARB sticks out in front of the '05 grille. The sides of the bumper are at the same hight on both models. So then I would have very little gapping. |

If you don't decide to use the 05+ on your jeep let me know I have an 06 KJ and would buy that one off you, to help cover the cost of an 02+! |

I was thinking the same thing. If it doesn't fit I can always sell it. If it does fit, which I think it will, all I need is a set of side moldings and some taillights and ...tada...my '02 turned into an '05... |

so..here's a pic of the same bumper fitted to this sellers KJ, seems like the ARB just wraps around the '05 grille.
Wish Tom or TJ were here, they both have an ARB on an '02-'04.. |

The '05+ ARB bumpers are mounted alot higher then the '02-'04's.You may get away with using the '05+ shell but order the '02-'04 mount for a better fit. |

Yes. The ARB does come with a plate to cover that up if you do not have a winch. I have a winch but i stuck the plate on anyways. Just drilled some holes for the solenoid box lines to pass through. I did that to try and keep snow and ice from getting down onto the winch. |

Haha I know I dug this one up. So there is a plate to cover the top of arb bumper where there is a hole. What about hte front? What do people put there? May be a while after I buy the bumper before I get a winch |

On mine (TJ), I bolted a piece of wood painted black to match the bumper in there... actually holds my front license plate too. |
