well i ran over a stick today while backing out of my driveway and part of it came up and disconnected the shifter linkage. well so i popped that back on and noticed that it also smashed a sensor that is right next to it. when i got back in the jeep i checked the CEL and got a code P0700....Transmission Control System. is that covered under the powertrain warranty? it just pisses me off because i was in my driveway and not even doing anything fun when it happened!

No, they won't cover that. it's physical damage. Warranty won't cover it if you wreck your Jeep either.

Get under there and see what the heck that stick did. You should be able to see the sensor/connector and the damage that it did.
