| Post subject: | Install on gas tank skid?? |
I picked up a Mopar fuel tank skid but didnt get any instructions with it. The skid is brand new but previous owner lost the paperwork and just didnt wanna mess with it. So all I had to do is drive out and pick it up and got it for a meer $25!!! Anyways, does anyone know if there's a link to an install? Pointers? |

Three bolts on each side you should already have nutzerts in the frame. If you have a rear hitch you have to take it off first .Put the skid on first then the hitch. They use the same bolts. |

one of the bolts will seemingly be blocked by the exhaust and you might get the urge to either drop the muffler or skip that bolt. I didn't have a super-long extension but I did have a friend pull the muffler to one side just enough that I could get in the and finish the job. |

did you get the bolts with it? If not I have an extra set from when I bought mine. I had the factory hitch so didn't need them. |

Thanks for the help guys. Thanks to 501 for that thread. That makes life a whole lot easier.. I was wondering if I were to have to be taking off the fuel tank for any reason. I picked up a KK skid this weekend also and it looks like that one is a tough cookie compared to the KJ one. I was talking to the couple I bought these skids from and they were sayin the main reason they didnt bother putting em on is because they had t remove the fuel tank??? |

Just whatever you do, make sure that the skid is placed in the right direction. If you mount it on backwards, gasoline will not longer fit in the tank. Unless you want to covert to E85 or diesel, I recommend careful inspection. |
