Post subject:  Rear Bumpstops

Hopefully I AM going to get started on my lift in the next few days. Dumb question. I'm installing OME springs rear. Quinn sent me the rear Daystar bumpstops. How do they install? Any directions? Thanks.

Drill a hole in the middle of the bottom spring plate and screw it in. I'm not sure what size bit to use though.

Be sure you have a real strong drill bit, I wore mine out, and still didn't get through!!! But mine seems to be doing fine w/o the bumpstop for going on 4 years of lifted life.

I guess there's always J B Weld right? I have yet to break anything I've ever stuck together with it.

Carbide drill bits, keep em sharp. Drill Doctor just works wonders. If a bit isn't sharp you will wreck the bit and put undue stress on your drill.

not to hijack the thread, but Does that drill doctor really work???

I have seen it, but never known anyone who has been happy with it. Does it only work on certian types of bits?

I work in a machine shop and use it all the time. It pays for itself in money saved on drill bits. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't used it myself. The only part of the bit that does any work is the front of the bit. the Drill Doctor sharpens them up real fast. It is literally like having a brand new drill bit everytime I use it.

I use carbide bits on everything because they are the strongest. So I only have experience with the Drill Doctor on carbide bits.
