I'll start building my own bumper in the next month, but is not only a bumper is a complete facelift, I started working on the grill and the next step is the bumper, can anybody send me the pdf file with the directions for the ARB bumper, I think the ARB uses a cradle attached to the body of the KJ and then a shell attached to the cradle that conforms the bumper, is that right or not, the directions would be very informative. In the meantime these is the new grille for the KJ, I'll wait to have the bumper ready an paint it together

interesting! what did you do, cut the grill free from the headlight sides, cut the center and trim and flush it up and glue it back together? |

Wow thanks for the idea on the turn signals. Like you I have started on a bumper build. I am using the same idea you are but I am welding the cradle, not bolting it. Where did you find the signals? How are you going to wire them? |

I've been running a similar setup for the past year or so when I narrowed my bumper.... works great.
I built small light pods that bolted into the factory mounts and used the factory turn signal bulbs/connectors. It wound up costing about $6-7 or so. |

X2 I lost my signals when I ran over my bumper. I have the stock fog lamps there right now but I could aways take them out since I just bought some new ones for the bumper. Hows the wiring with the leds? |

It doesn't have the holes for the fog lamps like your sport. |

It's glued together using heat, chloroform and an aluminium mesh wich gives strength. For the turn ligths I just cut the holes on the grill, made a piece of metal with an oval hole as these led lights are a twist to put desing, cost me like 9 bucks each at a local source. On the wiring side I haven't started yet, but I think, I'll use a diode and a resistor for the parking and direct to the turn signal. 2006 KJ upppsss someone took my idea!! |

That heat, chloroform and aluminum mesh plastic welding process sounds like a useful thing to know. Could you post some info on it or a URL to a site? Thanks! |

The process start with a 300W solder iron, you have to melt the plastics, if you want to join two big parts of plastics yo have to add the aluminum mesh to give strength to the solder, the mesh will sunk in the plastic as you heat it, and apply several drops of chloroform while you heat it, if you want to repair a small part you can use other plastic and melt it over the part you want to repair, using always the chloroform as this is the glue for these plastic solder. |
