When rebuilding the struts do the mounting plates and top and bottom isolators need to be replaced as well? I'm planning on using OME 131 strut cartridges and 926 springs and am wondering if the other parts needs to be replaced at the same time. If they do not need to be replaced...would it be a good idea to do so anyway as long as the struts are disassembled? Also, for strut mounts is it OK (better?) to use the Daystars or go with new factory mounts? The Daystars are so much cheaper. My 04 KJ has almost 106k miles on it. Thanks for any and all input! |

Just reuse the stock parts you have and change the front shocks. |

I just replaced the front shocks on my KJ (it has a Daystar lift) and reused everything. It handles much better now. You might want to consider changing the front sway bar bushings while you're at it. |

OK, I got it...shocks. But what about my question? Any advice there? Am I wasting my money on new mounts and isolators or is it worth it as long as I have everything apart? And Daystar or OEM? Why the price gap? Thanks everyone, you all rule! |

Like Edvalencia, when I did my lift (OME 927 over Rancho 17505) I reused the stock upper and lower isolators as well as the stock mounting plates. As long as there isn't any damage (and there shouldn't be), there is no problem reusing them. |

The only reason you would need Daystar upper mounts is if you are planning on adding a spacer. |
