OK, so I've looked at a bunch of fog light threads, and I see where yall are putting them...right on the front bumper where I would put them, but nobody is showing how to mount them! It seems there is plastic bumper with steel beneath. On XJs stock bumpers there are holes in the steel bumper with plastic caps that you can pop out and bolt the fog lights to. Not so on the KJ!! Should I just drill holes and bolt right through?? Is there anything beneath there to worry about?? I really don't feel like taking a plastic bumper cover off! I just want to slap some fogs on there, wire them up with a relay and be done!! Thanx for the help!

If your not willing to take the bumper cover off, your not going to be happy with the results.

You basically need to add in a little bracket from sheet steel or whatever, i used some pieces from home depo. Otherwise your going to be shaking all the time, especially if you have no front fender liners.

It's not very difficult imho, just take if off and improvise.

Are you saying put a spacer between the metal beneath the bumper and the plastic bumper cover???

Anyone got pics during an install?

On the '02-04 KJs it is easier to install aftermarket lights on the bumper; on the '05+ models they changed the framework underneath and used brackets to hold the factory bumper lights. More info can be found in this thread.
