Attaching tow points to a Polar Bear grill guard?

Post subject:  Attaching tow points to a Polar Bear grill guard?
Does anyone know of a safe way to attach tow point to a Polar Bear grill guard? I assume the grill guard utilizes the same holes for the tow hooks.

I am thinking about getting the grill guard but can't use it if it negates tow points.

I think a member or two on here figured out a way to use a grill guard as well as the front hooks. Jeep Dawg maybe???

Before I had the ARB bumper, I used to have a mopar bull bar and still managed to keep the tow hooks.

Most bull bars/brush guards list removing the tow hooks in the installation instructions since the mounting brackets are usually installed using the existing mounting hardware for the factory tow hooks. However, depending on the brush guard/bull bar it may be possible to remove the tow hook, insert the mounting bracket, and put the tow hook back on like it was with the mopar bull bar I had.

Do you have any pics of the brush guard you are thinking of and the mounting brackets?

I was hoping to use some of the universal style tow hooks (from my XJ) or D-ring shackles I have lying around. I don't have kj tow hooks and would rather not buy them.

While it does appear that you could get the tow hooks on under the bracket for the brush guard, you really won't have any way of hooking up to them due to the cross member at the bottom of the guard.

I am also pretty much 100% sure you do not want to mount anything on the guard to use as a recovery point since the brackets to hold the guard in place are likely no thicker then 3/16", the bottom of the guard is usually well secured, but the top of the guard generally is not.

You may be able to do something like this, but with the recievers turned down like they would be normally, this way you may be able to bring them out underneath the cross member on the brush guard.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just going to go with the tow hooks. Just ordered them from JParts.
