So, I was driving up to the hills Saturday when my check engine light came on. Turns out the push clip that held the wire, leading to my HO2S, popped out causing the wire to wrap around the front driveshaft. It ended up tearing the wires from the HO2S itself and also tearing the wires about a foot up from the connector clip for the sensor. Does anyone know where those wires run to in the engine bay and what I am gonna have to replace? I nt wanna just repair the wires that had already torn since I dont know what kind of damage may be done to the wires thrughout due to the stretching and force. I dont have the "bible" for my jeep yet, is there a link to a wiring diagram or somethin?

Thanks again to everyone that gives any imput. 8)

Heated O2 Sensor?

Myself if the wires are really questionable I'd consider replacement. They're relatively cheap

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother   .. The wires are dirt cheap, yes, but they also may connect to the ecu? I am tryin to see if someone knows where the wires from the Heated Oxygen Sensor trace back to. There are a variety of plugs with GOBS of wires all bunched up together. Its very frustrating. I was just hopin someone could lend a helping hand. I picked up a 2nd job just to keep this stinkin jeep happy and work 14hr + days. If anyone could help, maybe so i could just stop by the stealership and pck up this wiring harness or maybe knows of an online wiring diagram?? The more I know about my vehicle, the more knowledge I can spread when others need help... I thought we were all standard issued the Jeep table of elements, did Thunderbird Junkie not get his?

Which sensor is it? Upstream, downstream, driver's side or passenger side? Looks like the upstream sensors get power from the power distribution center (fuse 16) for the heater, while the downstream sensor's heater is controlled by a relay in the PDC. The ground side of the upstream sensor heater is controlled by the PCM. Both upstream & downstream tie in to a common sensor ground on the PCM while the signal goes to the PCM. I might be able to extract the pages from the PDF manual I have and send them to you.

It is Bank 1, Sensor 2 behind the catalytic converter on the driver side. I stopped by the stealership on my lunch break and actually had someone that was willing to help without the $80 fee. But they said that it is connected to the PCM. I didnt see a wiring diagram, just what the parts and service rep told me. Does anyonew have anything to dispuit this? I couldnt imagine having to change my PCM cause of this stoopid sensor. :x

BTW, thanks for the response. There still are ppl out there willing to share their knowledge with ppl that have a lack there of and not moch them or get frustrated with, what they think, are basic jeep knowledge.

Looking at the wiring diagram (as best as I can tell) it looks like you will have to splice it. Either that or you will have to replace a complete front clip wiring harness.
