| Post subject: | tail light covers???? |
Im looking for tailight covers that are black. Ive seen people actually tint tail lights but Im not sure if it'll work with the liberty lights. I want to get the back lights to almost match the black paint. If anyone knows where I can get a precut film or tint I would like to know. Anyone done this or have pics I can see? Thanks |

tinting your tail lights will work , use Nite Shades from VHT. Works great , did mine over 4 years ago and still looks good, much better then them cheap looking covers that fall off! |

so night shades vht worked for you. When you sprayed it on was it hard to get it all evenlly sprayed so it doesnt look like a spray paint job? I was affraid it might look funny. Have any pics? |

Don't have any good pictures but, here's a couple , didn't do them real dark just enough to make them match a little, nice and smooth, trick is a few very light coats If I remember I will try and get some better shots tomorrow and post em!

one can will be more than enough to do what you want. Any parts stores that sell VHT products can get it for you and it is spelled "NITE SHADES" for off highway use only |

So I found the VHT nite shades and tested it on my third brake light as my trial run. Im not sure what happened but the paint began to dry forming little cracks all over the place. |

when I did mine I only washed them really good with dish soap, laid them out to get good and dry then painted with very light coats , never had a problem |

Well I sanded down the lense and polished it till I got a good shine going. I decided to try nite shade on just a corner of the lense and sure enough it started to form cracks again. |

Try it again with several VERY light coats. you should barely be putting any on with the first coat and then let it dry well, then a second VERY light coat .... etc. until you get it the shade you want. it takes longer this way but should turn out good. if it is checking/ crackling then it's going on too thick IMHO. |
