For those of you that opted to use riv-nuts (the patented name) for your skid installs, did you happen to measure the factory hex hole in the frame? I found a bollhoff (who bought the patent from goodrich, I think) catalog and the only size hex rivnut that uses M10x1.50 (which is the factory bolt size) is 13mm (flat to flat). I want to make sure that's the right size before I order them. I have a source of the aviation grade hardware, so I'm assuming they're better than mopar, but don't have easy access to the jeep at the moment to put a set of calipers on the hole. Thanks. Dan |

Did you end up buying the “riv-nuts” or “bollhoff” ? I’m in need of a couple of them. I’ll keep my eye on the thread. |

I need 6 of the riv-nuts for the tranny and transfer case Mopar skids. Any idea what size and where to get them? Thanks. |

I drilled out the ones on the cross member and use carriage bolts. infinitely better than the nutzerts and cheap to replace. I've found a racheting wrench makes installing and removing the skids very easy. you still need two nutzerts for the xfer case skid. I was going to try to make a plate with welded nuts to slide in the frame rail. I've been through 3 sets of nutzerts, they don't last repeated removal and re-install of the skid. |

I was trying to find a size for some nutzerts for ours, I test fitted a 13mm headed bolt in the hole, fit perfectly. Sooo not sure of the size bolts, but the head was 13mm which is the same size of the hex hole in frame. |

So does anyone know where to get the nutzerts from? I've tried Napa and they had no idea what I was talking about. |

Dealers might and specialty industrial fastener places might. They are more commonly known as Rivet-Nuts or riv-nuts. P.S. half of mine stripped because I didn't put them in JUST RIGHT, so I had to rip them out with a pair of pliers and just replaced them with thru-bolts and some lock-washers and nuts from home depot. I measured and ordered a 10-pack from ebay. Takes a 3/8-16 bolt. Guess I'll find out in a week if they work |

I just got all new MOPAR skids and fitted them to my 04. I had to drill 3 extra holes. The install pack from MOPAR is only 10$ (It came with my skids though) |
